About me

We are foodies offering intimate culinary strolls through San Francisco’s famous Ferry Building Marketplace, culturally diverse Mission District, historic Japantown, and downtown's craft cocktail bar scene. Our explorations take place in neighborhoods where small business owners, artisans, purveyors, farmers, and restaurant chefs share their personal food stories and their passion for local, seasonal, sustainable eats. And, of course, along with learning about each area’s culinary and cultural background, guests are treated to signature tastes from seven to nine different stops along the way. Who takes our food tours? Locals rediscovering the region, out-of-town visitors, corporate groups, couples, coworkers, friends, family, DIY enthusiasts, amateur cooks, and professional chefs – pretty much anyone who enjoys learning about food and likes to eat. Led by founder Lisa Rogovin and her team of knowledgeable epicurean concierges – many with culinary training, cooking experience, or food writing backgrounds – these food tour adventures take guests behind-the-scenes into the best of the Bay Area’s acclaimed food communities, where they will discover delicious savory treasures and sweet gems one bite at a time. Bon Appetit.

The Original Ferry Building Tour

0 guests went on this tour

Dating back to 1898, San Francisco’s iconic Ferry Building is not just a transportation hub. It’s a landmark location for the Bay Area’s best food artisans, boasting two weekly farmers’ markets and dozens of nationally acclaimed vendors and restaurants. Join the original Ferry Building Tour established in 2004 and sample award-winning Mt. Tam cheese from Cowgirl Creamery, paired with sweet and sour loaves from Berkeley’s Acme Bread with a food industry professional as your guide. House cured fennel salumi and freshly made mortadella in Boccalone’s “meat cones” are an instant hit. We’ll taste handmade chocolate confections from Recchiuti and French macarons from Miette, named one of the top ten pastry shops in the world by Conde Nast Traveller. An offshoot of the high-end Slanted Door, Out the Door’s legendary spring rolls are a crowd favorite. Additional stops may include Frog Hollow Farms, Sow Juice, and American Eatery.
